Well, after 20 hours on planes (including one hour sitting on the tarmac in an airplane whose ac didn't work unless the engines were running while maintenance had to come back because they forgot to initial the safety report) I am now in Nairobi. Pastor Patrick and his family are very kind and set us up with a very nice room with a shared kitchen and laundry (yeah! no doing laundry by hand like in Romania). I just wanted to let you all know that I made it and a special thank you to Heather for driving me to the airport at such an unpleasant hour :)

- I am a George Fox Evangelical Seminary grad who just finished the thesis "Moving Towards Illumination: The Development of Method and Rhetoric in the American School of Archaeologists." I am also a masters student at Trinity Western University. My day-job involves studying Ethiopian manuscripts and the Dead Sea Scrolls. This has given me many opportunities to wander. I am glad you made it there safely. Don't forget to smuggle me back something nice. The more illegal it is the better.
Thanks and Sean I am thinking of smuggling you a new pet, like a giraffe. Yesterday, Steve asked the little 3 year old of the family that we are staying with what sound a giraffe makes and it was everything I could do to keep from saying Giiiiiirrrrafffe.
Oh, I so wish you had. It would have been amazing!
